25 Free Cloud And Sky Photos in Hi-Res Vol. 1

I started learning CGI a while ago and though I am a professional photographer, sometimes I was just missing a perfect sky or cloud image to use as a background for the windows in an interior scene or to use in a photo montage. Because of that I started a collection of different cloud and sky images.

I learned a lot from other photography blogs and I use free models, fonts, audio and other stuff for my work, if permitted, so I thought, why not give back some love and offer my images for free?

So here we are: 25 free cloud and sky images in high resolution, available for personal and commercial use.

Where is the catch?

There is none. Download the images, use them for free in your artwork, on your website, for flyers, posters or the like. You can even sell them or use the images or part of them for media used in stock agencies. Just don’t hold me responsible for anything in relation with the images. It would be great, if you can credit me (photo: Robert Kneschke) and link to this website, but this is not a requirement.

What do I get?

  • 25 images of skies and clouds in different times of the day
  • 5 vertical images, 20 horizontal images
  • the resolution of the images is about 5616 x 3744 pixel (21 Megapixel), so they are big enough to be cropped or used for big posters (I have seen some being used in 3,5 x 2,5m posters)
  • all images have been dust-spotted at 100% and are noise-reduced
  • all images were shot with a full-frame DSLR (mostly the Canon 5D Mark II and Mark III)
  • all images were shot with the 24–105mm L lens, mainly at aperture f11 or f13, at ISO 100
  • all images have been compressed into a zip-file with a total file size of ~160 MB
  • the zip file is password-protected, PASSWORDwww.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de
  • for MAC users: The standard unpacker doesn’t work, try using StuffIt or a similar unpacker

How can I support you?

If you like my offer and want to help, you can spread the link to this webpage.
Or you can sign up for free at the cloud storage solution Dropbox and get me and you 500 MB free.

My plans for the future

My next collection with more cloud images is almost ready. I am also thinking about offering the original RAW image files, so you can develop the image to your own liking. Let me know if you are interested.

  7. Is this still available? I tried to download it, and it starts downloading, but then doesn’t finish properly, and I can’t open the zip file. I am using Windows 7.

  14. Hi Robert
thank you very much for allowing us to download your photos freely , but more importantly easily with out a catch !
I have recently attended an airshow where the sky was gloomy and boring ! your clouds will bring life back to my dead photos !!

    thank you my freind

  15. Hi Robert
I am starting to get into photoshopped images. I like to add a sky.
    Thanks for these images.
Raw files would be good at some stage. Easier to grade and make them fit into a landscape.

Klasse!
Ich fotografiere was mein Auge sieht.
VG aus Düsseldorf und nochmals Danke!!
